NEW YORK FASHION WEEK 2012 S/S

 New York Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2012. What to expect is more and more Royal Profiles of the fashion industry. Now being celebrate as the biggest fashion gathering it has become the highest Church of fashion. Not only is it hosted in the biggest and most fashion conscious city. The Big Apple fashion event has the most ranking when it comes to Fashion Icons and religious believers. What it has in place is from the 08 of the Spring month September, you will get to be transformed from the art work and styles designers have manifested together. I love NY  will be alive and kicking and yes you will be drawn to love Fashion. We all anticipate NYFW and yes it has become praised more then other FW.  


 

 Evoque will be  keeping you updated from day 1 and the opening is always the most amazing to see. Not forgetting the front row people, keep an eye out for who will be NY inspired in 2011. Designers Love NYFW and its no debate as why the NY has the love. Forget winter, take out the open toe wedge and stilettos and time to rock the cocktail dress and make spring and summer as bright as ever with Pinks, reds, yellow, green and more colors like its a world of dreams and edge. Welcome to what will be known as the Future of fashion and lets make Spring and Summer NY inspired. No doubt Mercedes Benz will keep the fashion week going till the next generation of art lovers.


 

Evoque will be paying attention to details and the creation of each designers mind set when they created to collection. First priority will be the colors used and the combination at which each designer experimented. Knowing some will go on a monotone base, but its a must to get the pattern and the color flowing the same direction as style is what needs to be achieved and the ready to wear must be of note for the market . Summer at the Rio Fashion Week Summer / Spring 2011/2012

 Going through the closet and looking at the Brazilian fashion week. Summer is near and bathing suite’s have to be out. Like the South African and African weather, the Brazilian weather is summer all year round. Sexy swim wear  all coloured up like a Brazilian carnival. It’s a celebration of colours and you fall in love at first site. Just to mention some of the Designers, Lenny gave us the playful spirit swim wear, with your greens, yellows  and reds, more colour you say, yes there were and she did not disappoint. We hope people will be more in the spirit of Summer and Spring once they get to feel  yes feel the collections at the Brazilian swim wear and yes it doe inspire to actually, put on that bikini  or one piece swim suit. Summer is not all about swim wear. We also took a glance at Espaco Fashion and the trend of long flowing garments is back and the earthy browns and brass colours looking trendy and also coupled with red and orange. Though there is that one garment that will catch the eye and at was the royal blue flowing jump suit and a dazzler. 

Yellow is making it’s come back and it is the black of summer. Couple yellow and green and you never seem to go wrong. Espaco shined and flowed at the Rio fashion week 2012. Blue Man, oh Blue Man. The sexy woman in swim wear and not to leave the boys out. Blue Man  takes on the more casual side of swim wear that can be mixed with your short denims and it’s sunny day out with friends, heading for the beach. Love the colours of that tie dye mix and the floral prints and as I said Yellow seals it all and there has to be that yellow swim suit. Snake skin pattern one you never see, but Blue Man played with it. Still on Blue man the second collection was more of the rich girl look, with sophistication and that girl that only plays with the big boys.

 

Loved the Tropical City of Rio and it was every streaming hot and the swim wear was sizzling. I wish I could have stayed longer but back to work and hope to see more of Rio in 2012. Hosted very well with the parties and it’s always a carnival at the Tropical Rio, Sun Sea and white sands coupled with beautiful people and hot an sexy bodies. Next Stop is China and EVOQUE is waiting to see what Beijing have to offer as winter is coming to its conclusion. Just a mention of the other Designers, Totem, O Estudio, 2^nd Floor and  Salinas was gorgeous, . EVOQUE.

The Durban Fashion Extravaganza : Fashion By the Sea

The Durban Fashion Extravaganza brought to you by Life Style Oasis, was recently held at the Docklands Hotel and the Moyo Pier on the 2^nd to the 4^th of June 2011. This was a homecoming show  to Durban  fashion designers, Craig Native, Gavin Rajah, Malcolm Kluk, Dax Martin and Fundudzi. This was a show case of purely Durban Designers and Models and had the attention of the elite in Durban fashion. The Collections from  designers Gavin Rajah  and  Malcolm Kluk, were pure elegance as expected and gave an individual as to what to wear at the 2011 Durban July. The dresses were Red Carpet gowns the makes a woman wearing exude presence in an event. Silk, colour, and elegance was the play of the season in Durban.  But there came a moment of Summer in the Swimwear from Dax Martin and Craig Native also played the part too.

 

Durban has long seen fashion, since the last Durban Fashion Week in 2008. But with this Fashion showcase, Durban still proved it has its own in the industry. Lifestyle Oasis gave Durban designers and the future young designers of Durban University of Technology  back the runway to show they still can put Durban back on the map as a Fashion city. The  Pier Show at Moyo, made one feel the importance of front row viewing and the close visual of the beautiful  gowns as they flowed by showed true art from the designers  though the waves and the night sea breeze played its part in the effects.

The Durban Fashion Extravaganza 2011 not just another Durban one hit wonder and expectations for 2012 are set to a high. As EVOQUE  we hope to see more designers join in for 2012 and a big applause  to Lifestyle Oasis for the Show and more to see for 2012. EVOQUE

Forever Young

Like the track from the oh so famous and still youthful Sting “forever young”.  You question yourself how do others do it, where is that fountain of youth they have and how did they find. It’s always been a secret from others as to how our celebrities still look so youthful even in their late primes. It’s something I guess they wouldn’t want to share because it involves pricking and prodding. Unlike most, some just have that anti aging gene that cosmetics companies offer in little bottle and call it the fountain of youth. Iman can be one of those celebrated icons that you might ask. How does she do it? Well my guess is as good as the next person. Her skin still as flawless and her body still put together as if she is still 24 years. That can be that question of that she was in the modelling industry and maybe she can pull all the strings she wants to get the latest cosmetics and the best trainers in the business. But there are some models who came after her and they are aging. But maybe it is because she was born in Africa and the harsh heat may have had some sort of play in the youthful retain of her skin, or maybe it just runs in the family genes. 

The fountain of youth is something every man and mostly women want and not everyone is as lucky as your Iman’s whom later get to launch their own cosmetic houses and offer people youth in a bottle. Some of us dream of being forever young, but the part of living forever is not one you would take so kindly. As much as staying young and youth is our everyday aim in the busy world. Living forever is not in our mind set as yet and I would say, let’s keep it that way. Still on the secrets of staying young, just the other day my house cleaner had this glowing face and I asked her what does she have on her face ? Her answer and the drum roll. LIGHT BROWN shoe polish. The one used by our grandmothers in the Sophiatown times. Where woman loved being beautiful and at any cost, even if  their pockets did not support much. How youth is a curse sometimes. I look at myself on the mirror and there that face staring at me and it looks  Nineteen and I am Twenty Four. This instance people disregard you and I sometimes, I  get treated like I’m a child and this is why most people want to look eighteen. 

We struggle to live in society because of society. Youth  and staying young is part of that. Always on the path of trying to impress others, by staying younger. Married people, strenuously trying to keep it together by trying to stay youthful and young, people at large doing so,  every single waking day of the lives.  I say to the person out there, if you have found the secret to staying youthful, keep it, it’s yours. But if you want to make money and drive society made then sell it. I guess it’s up to you. Forever young. EVOQUE.
